Services in the Benelux
In the Netherlands and Belgium, we deliver your shipments on the next working day. For the Wadden Islands and Luxembourg, we deliver within 48 hours. Due to unforeseen developments - such as shop closings, nobody being present to take delivery, incorrect addressing, sorting errors etc. - your shipment may, in exceptional cases, not arrive within this time frame.
Nobody home? Second delivery attempt free of charge
Nobody home? If so, we will try to make delivery a second time free of charge. The consignee receives a card in the letterbox asking him to contact us within 3 days to arrange for a new delivery date. If we do not receive a response within this period, we return the shipment free of charge.
Refusal
If your consignee refuses to take delivery, we ask you to specify a new delivery date. The shipment will then be delivered a second time free of charge or will be returned to you within 3 days, generally not free of charge.
Signature
We treat each shipment as if it were sent by registered post, which means that the consignee always signs for delivery in good condition. So there is never any uncertainty about the delivery of your shipments. You can always request a signed record of delivery from our switchboard operator, for which a fee may apply.
Express deliveries and time-specific deliveries
The best-known - standardized - Plus delivery by TransMission is the express delivery. We deliver these ‘Plus deliveries’ within a guaranteed time window - between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. or between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. - to any address in the Netherlands, with the exception of the Wadden Islands and Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. We can also guarantee delivery after 2 p.m. or after 4 p.m., for which an additional charge applies.
With the help of our TransmIT forwarding program, you can request express delivery via the key combination Ctrl-F8 (Plus). If you work with pre-printed transport orders, you can request express delivery by faxing your request to our Planning Department. When doing so, you should specify the time window desired for the delivery. Always attach a green (before 9:30 a.m.), orange (before 11 a.m.) yellow (after 2 p.m.) or purple (after 4 p.m.) sticker to your shipment. You can order these stickers from us.
Please specify the delivery time on the shipping list, the transport order or in the delivery information line in TransmIT. We will then view this as a special request.
COD (Cash On Delivery) shipments
For COD shipments, you should specify the amount clearly on the waybill or in TransmIT. In Belgium and Luxembourg, the consignee pays the COD amount either in cash or with a cheque. We do not accept any responsibility for uncollectible cheques.
For COD shipments in the Netherlands, we pay out weekly after collection. For Belgium and Luxembourg, we pay out two weeks after collection. We deduct the collection fee from the COD amount. This fee is exempt from VAT.
The maximum COD amount allowed per shipment is € 2500.00. All claims based on a COD proviso lapse after 12 months, starting from date of shipment.
Workplace deliveries
Workplace deliveries are ‘customized’ Plus deliveries, in which our driver performs the extra services agreed upon beforehand at the delivery address. This can include delivery of cleaning products to the broom cupboard, de-stacking pallet cargo, delivery to upper floors, exchanging goods etc.
The rate schedule is time-dependent, modular in structure, and always agreed upon for specific circumstances.
Picking up general cargo and pallets
We can pick up general cargo and pallets for you from any location in the Benelux and deliver them to you. As consignee, you receive an invoice specifying the rate for picking up the goods.
Depot restante
You can also send your shipment ‘depot restante’, in which case your customer can collect the shipment after 7:30 a.m. at our depot.

Hazardous materials (ADR goods)
All our lorries are equipped in accordance with ADR standards, and our drivers all have an ADR skills qualification certificate. The sender of ADR goods is responsible for the required packaging with UN mark, the labelling and the transport documents, including a completed waybill, sender’s declaration and TREMCARD (transport emergency card). An additional charge may apply for transporting hazardous materials.
Classes which we do not transport are:
Class 1 (with the exception of 1.4 S) Explosive substances and articles
Class 4.2 & 4.3 Substances subject to spontaneous combustion
Class 5.1 & 5.2 Oxidising compounds and organic peroxides
Class 7 (with the exception of pages 1 - 4) Radioactive materials
Class 9 Various hazardous materials and articles
